Tesco Club Card Holders Need to Act FAST!
Tesco supermarket is planning on cutting the exchange rate for its rewards from x4 to x3 from 6th December this year.

This means, that if you have been saving up your club card points, to trade them up for an exchange, you’ll need to get this done before the 6th of December in order to get the most out of them.
Tesco currently operates one of the most generous loyalty card schemes around, giving shoppers 2 points for every £1 spent in store. This is because of their ‘double points’ offer which has been in place since August 2009 and which Tesco says it has no plans to end at present. Card holders can use these points to buy things in store at 1 point to 1 penny, or they can exchange them for vouchers for dining out in restaurants, or for cinema tickets, or days out for the family and more, at an exchange rate of 1 point to 4 pennies. (Minimum exchanges are normally either £2.50 or £5 of vouchers).
From December the 6th, this exchange rate of 1 point to 4 pennies will be dropped to 1 point to 3 pennies instead, which although still excellent value, won’t offer quite such a good return.
As a further blow, people who fill up their cars at Tesco, will from the 1st of November only get 1 point for every £2 spent instead of the current 1 point for every £1 spent.
Tesco says that the reward rates are being changed to make the scheme more inviting to more trading partners which should mean more options for people to choose from when swapping their vouchers. Lavish who issue tokens for spas, and Bertorellis restaurants will be two additions that are coming soon to the scheme.
Carolyn Bradley the UK marketing director at Tesco is quoted as saying ‘We want everyone to get more out of Clubcard and continuing double points is a key way for us to do that. We need to adjust part of our scheme to help us do this, but we’re confident that even with these adjustments, the vast majority of customers are still better off than they were before we launched the double points’. She has also reassured customers that any savings Tesco makes as a result of the rule changes will be invested back into the scheme, and card holders should look out for further big exchanges like the one that occurred in the summer.
Tesco is also looking to put people’s Clubcard accounts online so that customers will be able to access them at all times.

it is not acceptable!
