Slash the cost of magazine prices by up too 90%
If you consider magazines to be a necessary item nather than a luxury item have you ever sat down and worked out the cost per year for your favourite mag?
Generally a magazine costs around £3, buy a couple a month and per year that is nearly £70!
Here are a few ideas to slash the costs, by anything from 20% to an astonishing 90% off the cover price.
1. Get a magazine subscription. If you buy more that 6 issues of the same magazine per year then it would be worthwhile switching to a subscription. Magazine-group.com are one of the biggest suppliers of magazine subscriptions in the Uk.
Example – Vogue is £3.40 per issue in the shops, but buy a six month subscription for £13.60 and each issue only costs £2.26 saving over 33% which is delivered free to your door.
Top Bargain – Magazine-group.com run some special introductory offers (3 magazines for £1) the idea is that you sign up for the introductory offer then forget/don’t cancel your subscription once your 3 issues for a £1 are up. But there is nothing to stop you doing this, just remember to cancel the direct debit once your 3 issues are up and you have got 3 issues of your favourite magazine for £1.
2. Use your Tesco clubcard points. If you have a clubcard you can convert your clubcard points to ‘deals’ which are worth 4x as much (£2.50 in clubcard points = £10 in deals). In the deals section you can buy a subscription to one of the many magazine titles on offer.
Example – £8.70 in clubcard points will buy you an annual subscription (12 issues) of Marie Claire, thats £0.72 per issue.
