Professional Teeth Bleaching
If you want to have your Teeth Whitened Professionaly at the Dentist it will probably cost you in the region of £400 – £500, thats a lot of money!
What most people don’t reaslise is that you can achieve the same results at a fraction of the Dentists cost at home. I have bleached my teeth myself and got very professional looking results for under £50 thats a lot cheaper than the costs the dentist was going to charge me.
So how do you do it?
To bleach your teeth professionaly at the dentists what they will probably do is make a gum shield to fit the shape of your teeth and then apply Hydrogen Peroxide gel to your teeth for a short period of time, the hydrogen peroxide is the agent that will lighten the colour of your teeth.
Do it yourself at home?
You can buy hydrogen peroxide gel over the counter from the chemist in the UK but it is so weak that it won’t do the job as well as going to the dentist.
BUT!
You can buy it on Ebay from America for a few pounds Teeth Bleaching Kits at the time of writing this you can get the gel delivered for under £4.00 this is the same hydrogen peroxide gel that the dentist will use on your teeth.
The kits will come with a ‘boil in the bag’ gum shield which you literally boil in a pan of water till it goes soft then put it in your mouth and bite down till it shrinks and fits the size of you mouth. It doesn’t work, it doesn’t fit your teeth properly and you will end up getting bleech on your gums which hurts.
I would suggest investing in a proper gum shield you can buy them online too they send out putty which you bite so it takes an exact impression of your teeth then you post it back to them and they make up an exact shield for your teeth. I got my one online for around £50 I would be surprised if you could get it any cheaper.
Teeth Bleaching is not for everyone so I would suggest reading up on the subject properly here are a couple of useful sites with more information on teeth bleaching. – http://www.dentalhealth.org.uk/faqs/leafletdetail.php?LeafletID=45 and http://hcd2.bupa.co.uk/fact_sheets/html/tooth_whitening.html
I would say that I am not endorsing or recommending bleaching you teeth at home yourself, if you do decide to do it, it would be your own decision, I did it myself and got fantastic results but you do need to research the subject thoroughly before you decide to do it.
