Making Money Online – Other ways to make money

Having looked at cashback sites, ptc sites, and survey sites in other articles, I thought I’d look at other ways you can make money online. (Ebay has also been covered elsewhere as well, so we’ll leave that one out too). There are some sites that will let you earn money for doing things like talking, or telling people about your experience of a product, some that send you little adverts and ask you to say what you think of the advert or the website, and all sorts of other things as well.

I’m going to look at a few sites here that haven’t been covered in the other articles, and some sites which will overlap slightly because they have an element of cashback involved, but maybe don’t JUST cover that, so haven’t been detailed elsewhere. Most of these sites don’t pay out in cash, although there are a few that do, but many of them pay in vouchers which I’ve always found are good saved up and used towards Christmas presents and things. In the long run, having a voucher to spend on something saves you money anyway, so it’s still a worthwhile exercise. (What about having a ‘free’ day out by saving all your gift vouchers, and luncheon vouchers and things, and then going out for the day and spending only vouchers. It can be quite a fun thing to do, and so lovely to come home with nice things and know you didn’t spend any cash too!).

HTMail
HTMail send you e-mails with a bit of blurb and a link to a website, you go and take a look at the website, and then fill in a very short form saying if you think the site is well laid out and interesting or not. You are credited US $0.10 (UK £0.05) if you click a link in one of the email ads to go to the advertisers web site and return the feedback form or US $0.01 (UK £0.01) if you do not visit and just return the code number from the advertisers email – but you also get US $0.05 (UK £0.03) for each feedback form returned by someone you referred AND an additional US $0.02 (UK £0.01) for each feedback form returned by their referrals. You may choose to be paid in UK Pounds or US Dollars. The method of payment is cheque or Paypal. Payment is made every 3 months on March 15th, June 15th, September 15th and December 15th and you will receive payment if you have reached the payout level by this time. If you have not then your money is carried over to the next quarter.

Pigsback
Pigsback is in theory a cashback site primarily, but it doesn’t offer daily clicks and it doesn’t offer money as a payment method, but rather offers items and gift vouchers, so I didn’t include it with the other cashback sites. As well as using it as a cashback site, you will also find there are quizzes on there to do every week which earn you points, and competitions and crosswords you can enter to win points. There are also adverts on the site which are sometimes bordered with a special pink border offering you 10 points for clicking on them. Points add up to let you choose gifts or gift vouchers – ranging from 100 points which lets you donate £1 to a charity and 125 points which gets you a pigsback shopping bag, up to assorted £10 gift vouchers costing 1000 points, and even some £25 and £50 gift vouchers for 2500 and 5000 points.

Ciao
Ciao is a site where people can go to read or review items they’re looking to buy or have bought. As well as being a very useful consumer site, it’s also quite good if you want to earn a bit of money on the internet, as when you write a review of an item for the site, when people read it, you get paid a small amount. This money builds up and is added to any money you earn through them as a survey site (see article on making money on the net – survey sites), and when you reach £5 or more in your account you can request payout. Payment is via BACS transfer direct to your bank account.

Peazyforum
Some forums – Like our very own peazy forum! – Let you earn money by referring new members, and by telling people about things you’ve found. On the peazy forum you can earn money in several ways.
Refer a friend and earn 50p when they have made their first 5 posts on the site.
Post a bargain and earn 20p as long as it’s not a bargain that’s been posted about before of course!
Post a shopping review on the forum and earn 40p – It has to be a new review, and not a reply to someone elses post to earn you money.
All the money is stored together in your referral centre account and you can request payout either via paypal from £2 or by amazon voucher at £10.

Exodus 3000
Another Unusual way to earn money, Exodus 3000 is a game that you play. You get daily moves that you can make, and you can buy more moves if you want to. You can exchange gold and mars dollars that you find for weapons and defence systems, to fight off other people’s attacks, but you can also save it up, and cash it out when you have enough to do so. The amount of ‘mars dollars’ (the game’s currency) that you need to cash out and it’s value varies, so you’ll need to consult their forum to find that information out, but if you like game playing online then it’s another interesting way to try and make a few pennies. Cash out is via paypal.

Frugaller search site
Frugaller is a site where you can compare cashback on various cashback sites. They are not all listed there by any means, but if you’re a member of a number of sites, it can be quite helpful in working out which is going to give you the best cashback for your spend. Also, At randomly selected time (between 6am – 10pm), Frugaller members will be selected by our computers to win prizes. From the time a user is selected and posted on the homepage, they have 3 hours to collect their prize

Wabbadabba
Wabbadabba is a search site like any other, except that when you sign up to this, and do searches, you could win a prize at random. Also, if you refer someone to wabbadabba and they win a prize when doing a search, you will also win something as their referrer, so on this site it definitely pays to tell people about it!

Bucks4Banners
Rewards you with £5.00 every month, as long as you keep three 468×60 banner ads of their on three different pages of your own website. You need to register with them and tell them your site, and if they approve the site they’ll tell you which banners to link to, and then you start getting paid for doing this.

Mylot

Mylot is a website where you get paid for making posts. Basically they’ve decided that to get their website big, fast!, they will reward people for posting on the site. They don’t really explain how much you’ll get, they say it depends on how interesting and useful your posts are, but if you’re looking for something to do, and fancy having your say about something, posting on there is worthwhile as they’re going to give you some money for doing so. If you can encourage friends and family to post on there as well, then you will be further rewarded as anybody who signs up on your referral link will earn you a bonus equal to 25% of that users earnings.
