Making money from adsense without getting banned
Adsense is a great way to make money from a blog or website you may be running. But there are some very easy mistakes you could be make that will either get you banned from Adsense or simply not maximise you profit.
- Clicking your own Adsense adverts.
This is the biggest of all the adsense mistakes even one click of an advert even by mistake or ‘to check that it was working’ and you will be banned. And you cannot reapply.
- Placing more ad units than allowed on a page.
Adsense have a set criteria for the number of Ad sense adverts allowed on a page you must stick to this, they will find out and you can possibly be banned for not following the rems and conditions.
- Labeling Adsense Ads with text other than “sponsored links” or “advertisements”.
Only the above mentioned two labels are allowed for google ads. I have seen other publishers using terms like, ‘click here for more info’ ‘click these links to help keep the website running’ ‘i need the money so click these links’. These will all get you banned from Ad Sense.
- Disclosing your Adsense reports to the public.
You are not allowed to disclose anything other than your aggregate earnings to others.
- Don’t have too many different topics on a single site.
This won’t get you banned but this can make it difficult for you to get relevant ads, and the click rate will be far lower as the adverts will not be relevant for the person reading the page.
- Keep they payment threshold to the minimum.
If someone decides they don’t like you or your website there is nothing stopping them repetedly clicking on your Adsense adverts. Adsense will see this as click fraud and will bann your account. You will be paid nothing and all past earnings will be lost. Keep the payment threshold to the lowest setting.
- Check your Adsense reports at least once a day.
If you don’t check your reports regularly you won’t know when something naughty happens on your account like above. If you are checking it regularly you can write to adsense support whenever you find something suspicious and it can save your account from being banned.
