Sellaband.com is an interesting concept, basically unsigned bands can upload their work to the sellaband website for anyone to listen too. If you like what you hear then you can invest money in the band the minimum investment is $10. Once a band has over $50’000 in investments the money is then used to record an album and no more investments are taken for that band.

If the album is a success the investors will make a % profit from each album, single and download sold as well as profit from advertising. If the band isn’t a success then hey you haven’t lost too much money!

The downside to the investment is you will only make money from the share of the band you have invested for the 1st year the band are successful after that the musician has the full rights to the music. But on the upside you could make a little bit of money from a fun investment, so maybe worth a look at.
