Glasgow City Council Free Handy Person Service

May 30, 2007 – 10:22 am

If you live in Glasgow and are aged 65 or over you are entitled to FREE use of the Handy Person service -

Glasgow City Council’s Handyperson Service provides practical help with tasks around the home that you may find difficult to do yourself.

Help is provided with small repairs, for example:

  • fixing a leaky tap
  • putting up shelves
  • changing a light bulb or fuse
  • repairing or replacing locks

Help is also provided with some domestic tasks, for example:

  • housework
  • cleaning windows
  • re-hanging curtains
  • laundry
  • spring cleaning

The Handyperson Service is free. The only cost would be for any materials needed to complete the task.
You do not need an assessment to receive help from the Handyperson Service. This is because the service is not designed to provide on-going help and support.

The Handyperson Service can be contacted on Freephone: 0800 587 2239
