Creating a profitable income from email autoresponders (Aweber)

If you are serious about internet marketing one of the easiest ways to drive traffic to your website is through building up an email newsletter database. If you can build a targeted database i.e. your newsletter readers are all interested in the same topic, then converting that database into profit should be relatively straightforward.

How do I do it?

If you were like me a couple of years ago you will probably not have the first idea how to send an email newsletter, never mind build up a database. When I started to build by first email database I was looking for a way to send email newsletters for free. If you have a small database (<1000 email addresses) then you could use a script like phplite on your website. It’s free you just need to install it on your site then add the correct code for the form on your homepage for people to sign up too. Phplite is capable of sending HTML newsletters direct from your website. BUT one of the main problems with it is that is has a limited capacity, if you start sending anything over 1000 email newsletters it is not going to be able to handle it. Other factors to consider are how many emails per minute your web hosting allows you to send. Most good hosting will allow a set maximum per hour which might be as low as 200, this is to spot people sending out spam. So 1000 emails could take 4-5 hours to send on a bad day.

Another option is to use Worldcast this is a free piece of software that sends email newsletter from your computer rather than a website. It will send the email via DNS rather than SMPT. There is no cap on the number of emails you can send, it can send a few every second. BUT again there are problems, some email accounts will consider your mail to be spam and block it and in some cases ban any mail from your domain name in the future, and if you have a big email database 5000+ it’s going to take you a while to send, which means leaving your computer on all day and night.

Aweber is the answer

The solution to the problem is Aweber, I read about it a few years ago and dismissed it. How stupid was I, Aweber has solved all my problems! Awber host your email databases, handle all the email delivery, and have very detailed mail analysis. It does cost around $20 per month but it is money well spend. Since they send they mail you can setup when you want mail to be delivered email accounts will not consider your emails to be spam, so you will have a much higher success rate. And the $20 fee is for an unlimited number of email databases, meaning if you run 4 websites and have 4 different mailing lists you only need to pay $20 for all 4.

Autoresponders

One of the most powerful things about Aweber is you can setup auto responders. So say you run a newsletter and when someone signs up to it you want to send them a newsletter each day for the first 4 days. You can do this with Aweber, you can programme in any number of predefined newsletters and set when you want them to be sent out after the person signs up.
