CD-wow the discount online CD and DVD retailer have lost a 6 year court battle with UK record companies and now face a fine of £41million.

CD-wow is a Hong Kong based company that sell worldwide and because they export from the Far East prices are up too a third cheaper than on the UK high street. Due to copyright laws in the UK it is technically illegal for retailers to export cheaper cd’s from the continent into the UK with the view to selling them at cut price.

Record companies say that it is more expensive to record in the UK combined with higher costs of living, shop rentals and wages they have no choice but to charge more

What do you think, why not enter the poll on the forum and have your say?

At present CD-wow is still trading but there are other online shops that sell at discounted prices try; Tesco Jersey, 4cheapcds,
